You can enable either SMS or WhatsApp, not both. Also, once your account is enabled for SMS,
it cannot be switched to WhatsApp, and vice versa.
For most apps, we recommend either including alternative login options alongside SMS or enabling
Multi-Factor Authentication. This ensures broad
accessibility in regions without SMS coverage and that users can continue accessing their accounts
in the event that they lose SMS access.
US and Canada SMS support
US and Canada SMS support is included at no additional cost on the Core, Scale, and Enterprise plans. You can enable SMS login and linking via the Authentication page of the dashboard.International SMS support
International SMS support is available on the Enterprise plan. Please reach out to [email protected] to request access. Once approved, international SMS will automatically be enabled for all apps on your account.If you enable international SMS support, you will be responsible for additional charges per SMS
sent. Underlying Twilio network costs will be passed through directly. See Twilio’s pricing page
