# Setup

Crypto deposits require swaps and gas sponsorship in app-pays mode on each source chain.

## Configure the app

Enable [swaps](/wallets/actions/swap/setup) and [gas sponsorship](/wallets/gas-and-asset-management/gas/setup) for each source chain for deposits.

When enabling gas sponsorship, you must enable **App pays** mode.

## Chain selection

When enabling gas sponsorship, you must enable it on all chains where you expect to receive deposits. Deposit addresses cannot be created on chains where gas sponsorship has not been enabled.
